A full but irritating day today. It started with a trip out to another company this morning. I was tasked with driving 3rd Limo. Always a challenge when trying to keep the cortege together. However within 200 feet of leaving the yard and driving across a junction, a lady driver (I say that tongue in cheek) decided she wanted to get past at all costs and squeezed between the 2nd and my Limo. It almost took my front end off. Please God let me one day get to chat to one of these drivers as i really need to know what goes through there minds (sic)
Not long after that, a pedestrian decided they would walk in front of my Limo whilst it was moving???? When we arrived at the Mansion (posh people) the mourners only had to walk 20 feet to the limos but they insisted we reverse the cortege through a 6 foot wide gate with 5 foot wide limos and at an angle. They then decided they would like to see the flowers as they were not going to view at the Crem. So the flowers were taken off the Hearse for them to see. Of course when we got the Crem they went and viewed the flowers anyway. Then after the Funeral as an afterthought they wanted all the flowers taking back to the house. By this time of course the Hearse had departed leaving only the small boots of the Limo's. Now these Floral Tributes were of a weighty size and me and the other driver were struggling down to the house with them when the Queen (sorry a lady) put her hand up and said in a derogatory manner 'Wait, I will tell you where to put them' At this point I knew exactly where I wanted to put them, but professionalism forbade me!!
Got back to our yard at 1.45pm just heated a tin of gruel for my late lunch when I was tasked with another job so my Dinner went in the bin!!!! After all that though what a great day as that's how I like them. Challenging and full.
I only spilt one top B natural last night so all in all a good night. The Band have a new singer now but I am disappointed they did not give the other singer time to find there feet. It's a cut throat business this music lark.
